Jimmy Lehn
WEEKDAYS 5AM – 10AM
Jimmy is from the great state of Wisconsin where most of his family still lives. Right after graduating high school 42nd in his class of 53, Jimmy joined the circus because he thought that was what his father wanted him to do. He started out selling popcorn, was promoted to cleaning elephant poop and within a year he was an actual circus performer. It wasn’t until much later that Jimmy discovered that his dad wanted him to join the service (not the circus). “Dad often slurred his words when he was drinking, so it was an honest mistake. To this day Dad still calls me a big fat clown”.
His radio career started in 1980 and he has been fired from jobs he had in Wisconsin, Texas, Louisiana, Ohio and Indiana. It wasn’t until he had been working at WCTY for 15 years that he felt secure in his job enough to start unpacking his boxes. Next year in September Jimmy will be celebrating his 20th year doing mornings for WCTY. For the last 15 years his partner has been Shelly Martinez and they have the most amazing relationship, with on air and off air chemistry. He and Franco in the Morning are currently planning some shenanigans.
In 2003 he adopted a beautiful 11 year old girl named Amanda from the Department of Children and Family. She has become an amazing woman with a college degree in animal science. She currently works with special needs children.
He loves camping with his beautiful wife Yevette at Campers World where they fish, kayak, hike, drink and play trivia with the Sims family. He also teaches comedy, pole dancing and plus size modeling. He used to play poker, ride bikes and go golfing with Marty Hausberger.
He is an amazing slow dancer.
